Alex Song Brothers and Sisters

Really? 27 siblings? When I first heard this fact, I immediately had like 10 questions to ask him! If only I had a chance to interview him before I wrote this article, then the title would have been " How This Footballer Coped With 27 Siblings ." Anyways, I still have my questions unanswered; What was it like growing up? Did they live together in the same house? Does he even know all of them? Were they all from one mother and father? So many questions.

The name of the footballer is Alex Song. Yes! the one who played for Arsenal and Barcelona.

Alex Song started his career with Bastia in France and he played for Bastia 32 times in the league. After 5 years at Bastia. He was signed on loan by Arsenal in 2005. Alex Song did not break into the Arsenal first team fold immediately and was only able to make 5 league appearances in the 2005-06 season. However Arsenal made his move permanent after agreeing a £1m fee with Bastia. Song made his Premier League debut against Everton, Arsenal won that game 2-0.

Song became pivotal and important for Arsenal in the 2008-09 season. The 2008-09 season was his breakthrough season at Arsenal and he just went fro strength to strength under Arsene Wenger. Song: Wenger was like a father to me… so why did he leave his family?

When quizzed on his big family he said : "When I lost my Dad I was only two years old, I don't know anything about him and when I grew up I had my sisters and sometimes I think my sister is my mum because I didn't know anything."

In his father's absence, he became the leader of the family. "One day my brother said to me, 'You know today we don't have any chance because Dad is dead and today we don't have anything'. I realised that I wanted to help my family, just to do something. I never knew I was going to be a football player, I just wanted to do something just to help my family."

I have a good life today, I miss just one thing, I miss my Dad. Because if I had this guy with me today, I think it would be very, very great for me. But what can I do? That's life, I don't have any chance to know my Dad and today that's what I want to give everything to my family."

"I have two boys, I give everything for them," he said

He left Arsenal for Barcelona in 2012, and he was only able to make 65 appearances in four years with the club. He was recently released by Sion Fc in Switzerland.
