The Attach Operation Cannot Continue Because Sharepoint 2013

hi alison,

about the issue, to clarify the scenario, could you confirm if the following is your situation?

1. create a subsite with a blog template in a teamsite.
2. go to the blog subsite and create a post.
3. click embed code when editing the body of the post as below:

4. paste the code above into the box and get the error "this html cannot be inserted because this type of content is not allowed".

if this is your situation, about "still trying to find the "html field security settings", do you set up the html field security via going to the top-level site > site settings > site collection administration > html field security> allow iframes from the domain www.eventbrite.com as below?

if not, could you try it ? then paste the code and check the result. here is a screenshots where i paste the code you provided:

this is a result in the post.

if anything is misunderstood or the issue persists, please let us know and we will continue to discuss the situation based on the update.

regards,
shirley

I was finally able to access the HTML Field security settings. I guess it did take 24 hours for it to appear after I turned on the custom scripting options.

Thank you.

Hi Alison,

Can you embed the calendar widget on a post of the Blog subsite now? Do you need further assistance?

Shirley

support here should know and be telling you that iframes cannot be embedded in blog site posts. after many, many user complaints about this issue, i gave up asking for a fix so came up with a workaround:

365.webbrewers.com/.../post.aspx

by the way - i have html field security settings set to the "allow any" option, but it makes no difference. so perhaps shirley could explain in more detail how she was able to workaround this anomalous  design.

permit contributors to insert iframes from any external domain into pages on this site.

Hi Mchv2.0,

Sorry for my delay.

Based on my test, I noticed when I paste the incorrect code in the box, I get the same error saying "This HTML cannot be inserted because this type of content is not allowed". Therefore, to troubleshot the issue, could you paste the code in the attachment of the post to check the result?

If it works, please check if your script is input correctly. Meanwhile, because similar issues may have different root causes, it is best to post a new thread with detailed information about the issue you encountered. Then, we can focus on the details of your exact scenario to provide one-on-one support. Thanks for your understanding.

Regards,
Shirley

I don't have an issue with the code - I believe you're adding it to a page not a blog post. You cannot insert iframes in blog posts. Can you show more of the page so we can verify it's in a blog post?

What was incorrect about the code? Try iframing a page from your site or even google.com or ANY site and let me know how you get on.

I'm able to embed an image (which is all that eventbrite url seems to do) but not a page or video or anything useful that somebody might want to embed. I don't need iframes for images! Since it seems you aren't aware of this, the "div class=12365kkhjjgf" that gets added when you insert a script/iframe, triggers a filter that strips out tags Msft deems unsafe. It's possible to remove those divs with jQuery but why the heck should we have to? As I've said countless times, it makes absolutely no sense that Msft allows those tags in pages but not blog posts.

Hi Mchv2.0,

About the issue that a page or video or anything useful that somebody might want to embed can't be embedded in the post of a Blog site, we suggest you post a new thread in our forum with related screenshots or the code to clarify it. Then, we will focus on it to provide corresponding troubleshooting steps. Moreover, doing that will help other users experiencing the same issue seek out the thread more quickly.

Thanks for your understanding.
